Richard McGeehan was trained at Sotheby's in London, specializing in 19th and 20th century decorative arts, and prior to his interior design practice was a dealer in high-style American decorative arts. His museum clients have included, among many others, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, MFA Boston, MFA Houston, New York Historical Society, Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the governor's mansions for the states of New Jersey and Missouri.
He has a great interest and passion for the objects that go into his interiors, and brings a dealer's eye to acquiring them. His design projects have been varied and wide ranging, often incorporating what he calls an "intelligent eclecticism", mixing modern and antique. He takes a highly individualized approach to each project, and delights in an expansive design vocabulary.
